Lowry,Lois.A Summer to Die.Laurel-Leaf Books

Lois Lowry won the Newberry Medal twice. I read her medal-winning books in Japanese before and thought they were intersting. Then I would like to read her other books, so I read this book.

Death is the main theme of this book, I think. It is inevitable.Everyone dies someday, somewhere. It is not until the day comes that you can tell how long the time is left. In this book I can find the remark, "It's not fair." several times. While someone dies young, others die hard. If you underestimate yourself and see the talented dying young, you might ask yourself why they have to die. I can't help wondering at a meaning of my life.

Everyone is mortal. How can I confront this reality?
